WHAT PEOPLE SAY: Abortion

Is it okay for pregnant teenagers to have abortion?

INDI.

Kun indi nila kaya, pwede man nga ipaampon nila ang baby. Makakuha pa better future ang baby. – ALYSSA KAYE ALBA, 19, Journalism student, West Visayas State University

No, it’s not okay because that is life. The act is a mortal sin in the eyes of God. – ISAIAH JUNIO, sacristan, Parish of Nuestra Señora del Pilar

Indi. Tuod nga kululbaan and at some point mahuya ka pero indi gid na siya dapat. – ASCAEA, 20, mother, food stall vendor, Iloilo City

For me as a teenager, it is not okay to have abortion. Yes I know having a baby is not easy, especially for teenagers. But it is not right to abort the baby. You need to face the consequences of what you have done. Be fair to the baby. – KRISCHELE EVANS ROSALES, junior high school student, Bataan

Indi gid ‘ya eh. Ginusto mo, panindigan mo. Kay kun gin gamit nila ila utak kag ginpaminsaran nila tadlong , indi inâ matabo. SEDD DY, college student, West Visayas State University

If you are a victim of teenage pregnancy at nasa ganyang sitwasyon ka ngayon, panindigan mo. Just take the risk. –  MARY HOPE FENETE, 20, student, West Visayas State University

No one has the right to kill a life. You made a mistake? Then, deal with it.

Teenagers today are more aggressive and more liberated. Maybe sex is just like a fun game for them. They don’t think about the possible effects of their actions. Abortion is a mortal sin. – KATHLENE GABUEN, 19, student, Iloilo State College of Fisheries

I strongly disagree. As the teenagers grow, their minds become wilder. Their curiosity can lead to sexual desire or lust – a temporary enjoyment. They must think. They should be aware of what would happen sa anda nga kinabukasan.

I think kinahanglan gid nila sang guidance sang ginikanan kag self-discipline gid. – AUDREY MARIE JUANIZA, 19, student, Pavia National High School

It’s a big no gid. Basi mapatay sila nga duha. May arâ inâ nga case. – FRELYN GABASA, 42, pastor, Jesus the Lamb of God Church

No, because it is a mortal sin. – TRICIA JEAN ESTOPACIA, 19, student, West Visayas State University

A child is the greatest gift of God and then gin buhat nila ang bata nga wala paghinulsol so dapat panindugan nila kun may mabuo. – RIZZA MAE ALOJADO, 19, student, Iloilo State College of Fisheries.
