ROXAS City – The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) is preparing for a cycling event that campaigns against illegal drug use and other crime s this week.
This year’s installment of the “Sikad Kontra Droga, Ligtas Balik Eskwela” will be on June 23, starting from the CPPO headquarters in Camp Teodorico C. Apil, Barangay Lanot to the People’s Park in Baybay Beach.
“The activity conveyed to the populace the zealousness of the CPPO in eradicating dangerous drug problem in the province,” said CPPO director Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion during a recent Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting.
Nacion added that the event has gained community support in the previous years.
Aside from fighting illegal drugs, the CPPO also conducted at least four cycling events for different causes since November 2016.
The most recent one was the cycling event for a safe, orderly and honest barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections. (With PIA/PN)
