Man, 6-year-old son killed in road crash

BACOLOD City – A man and a 6-year-old boy were killed after a car crashed against the trisikad they were riding on Buri Road in Barangay Mandalagan, a police report showed.

The 44-year-old Dante Lascoña and son Rendel, residents of Hacienda Carmenchita in the village, sustained head and body injuries.

They were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where the attending physician pronounced them “dead on arrival.”

It was around 6 a.m. on Wednesday when the crash happened near the Mandalagan barangay hall, the report stated.

The 37-year-old Catherine Rhea Mationg of Escalante City, Negros Occidental was driving a Kia Rio car when she collided with the Lascoñas, said Police Officer 2 Richard Dema-ala of Police Station 3.

Mationg fled the crime scene and left her car in front of her sibling’s house in a subdivision in the city.

Police were still locating Mationg as of this writing./PN
