BACOLOD City – Police arrested two brothers after they mauled their neighbor in Barangay Zone 4-A, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
The 49-year-old Jojo Diosion died of body injuries, a police report showed.
The brothers were identified as the 47-year-old Joel Peñalosa and 41-year-old Christopher Peñalosa.
Investigation showed that the Peñalosas attacked Diosion around 11 p.m. on Monday.
Police said Joel was having a drinking binge with William Elloran prior to the mauling. They then invited Diosion to join them.
Diosion accepted the offer but went home first and returned with a bladed weapon.
This prompted an altercation between Joel and Dioson, resulting in a fistfight.
Christopher also joined in mauling Diosion, bringing with him a steel pipe he used to hit the victim several times.
Diosion was rushed to the Talisay City Health Unit where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
The Peñalosas, on the other hand, were detained at the Talisay City police station lockup facility./PN
