ILOILO City – Two bonnet-wearing men shot a businessman in Barangay Tubogan, Ajuy, Iloilo.
Acel Silva, 45, of Barangay Zerrudo, Sara town died of eight gunshot wounds at the Sara District Hospital on Monday.
Silva was attacked at around 9 a.m. while buying lumber, according to Chief Inspector John Van Herson Luspo, Ajuy police chief.
Silva, who ran a lumber business in Sara, was with two helpers but the gunmen spared them.
The killers were wearing jackets and shorts and walked away casually after shooting Silva, the helpers would later tell the Ajuy police.
Policemen recovered from the crime scene 10 spent bullet shells of a .45 pistol.
“The killing could be business-related,” said Luspo but the Ajuy police was not ruling out anything yet.
Luspo formed a “focus team” to investigate the crime./PN
