2 locals yield ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Several plastic packs of suspected shabu were seized from two people in separate police antidrug operations in this city.

Floriza Virgel of Purok Cereza 2, Barangay 27 and Rex De La Cruz of Purok Boulevard, Barangay 13 – both 24 years old – were arrested in their respective villages, police said.

Police Station 4 officers seized from Virgel on Wednesday evening six sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P13,500 and P750 cash.

Virgel confessed that she took her stocks from her uncle, who was detained in the Bacolod City District Jail for a drug-related offense.

On the same night De La Cruz yielded two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,000, P100 cash and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Operatives from Police Station 1 caught him.

Virgel and De La Cruz were detained and charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
