ILOILO City – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Iloilo plans to put up a new office in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Santa Barbara town, Branch Manager Jeanette Lloyd said.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. agreed to donate to PCSO a portion of a provincial government-owned lot in the village but clarified that this would need a resolution from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Lloyd said.
Lloyd said he went to Defensor last week to ask for a vacant lot where they may build their new edifice.
Currently PCSO-Iloilo holds office at the Iloilo Sports Complex in La Paz district – a provincial-government run facility.
“Ang governor (Defensor) committed pero i-[Provincial] Board resolution niya pa,” said Lloyd.
But she believes the Board members will be able to pass the resolution.
“I don’t think nga mangindi sila sa ginapangayo naton nga lot,” added Lloyd.
A new building would allow PCSO-Iloilo to accommodate more clients, the branch manage stressed.
Funding for the new building will come from PCSO’s central office, Lloyd said without disclosing the amount. She was clueless how much.
If the project pushes through, PCSO-Iloilo will hold office in Santa Barbara along with the Department of Health (with its new building) and the Western Visayas Sanitarium./PN
