MANILA – Businessmen are seeking “clarity” on proposals to amend the constitution, an official of the Financial Executives of the Philippines (Finex) said recently.
Investors need to determine whether benefits from the proposed changes will be enough to justify an overhaul of the current form of government, said Finex national affairs committee vice chairman Eusebio Tan.
The public should be made aware of the consequences of charter change, Tan said.
Foreign investors are particularly interested about the effect of the devolution of power to local government’s on the economy, he said.
A Malacañang-backed consultative committee is set to hold public consultations on charter change around the country. (ABS-CBN News)
