RENOWNED for their iconic lifestyle malls, Megaworld has opened a new refreshing take on the usual galleria concept – right at the heart of its Iloilo Business Park township, on prime and accessible real estate in Iloilo City.
Festive Walk Mall is a new-found sanctuary of shopping in Iloilo – boasting tropical-themed architecture, lush outdoor gardens and rich interiors, innovative cinemas, as well as carrying dozens of popular local and international brands, some of whom marking their first time to venture into this developing city.
“We are pioneering the ‘lifestyle mall’ concept in Western Visayas with the opening of Festive Walk Mall. What we are bringing to Iloilo are things that every Ilonggo will be proud of,” said Kevin L. Tan, Alliance Global Inc. CEO and head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
Festive Walk Mall is property giant Megaworld’s first full-scale lifestyle mall in the Visayas and Mindanao region.
The P2.2-billion Festive Walk Mall offers 90,000 square meters of gross floor area of shopping, dining, leisure and entertainment, highlighted by Iloilo’s most state-of-the-art cinemas, which include VIP cinemas that offer full butler service with unlimited popcorn and drinks, and reclining leather seats with foodtray and LED lamp. Some cinemas also feature the latest Dolby Atmos sound technology, the first in Western Visayas.
The three-level mall will also be home to several “first-in-Iloilo” brands. These include the city’s first Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, TGIFriday’s, Korean stores Mumuso and Nature Republic, La Lola Churreria, Furniture Republic, Metro Dental, Binondo’s renowned Henry’s Camera store, DIY Hardware and Japan Home Center. The mall will also be home to Wilcon Home Essentials, Wilcon’s first mall-based store in the whole of Visayas.
This will also be Iloilo’s first mall with two anchor supermarkets: Festive Market by Savemore, and Marketplace by Rustan’s, which marks its first entry in Western Visayas. Festive Market is the first-of-its-kind supermarket brand exclusively created by SM for Festive Walk Mall.
Festive Walk Mall will also be Iloilo’s first pet-friendliest mall, having its own dog park and the Barking Café, a new concept coffee shop catering specifically to pet owners and their pets.
The mall will also have three event facilities: the indoor event atrium, outdoor covered event area, and an outdoor open-air activity area. It will also feature a children’s playground and a concept food hall.
Touted to be Iloilo’s “most beautiful mall,” Festive Walk Mall’s design strongly evokes tropical influences with its indoor gardens around the development. Its third level is highlighted by The Deck, an open space featuring lush gardens and greeneries where the chapel and al fresco dining restaurant and cafes are located. There is also an interactive dancing fountain at the mall’s main entrance along Megaworld Boulevard.
In May, Festive Walk Mall won the Highly Commended Award for ‘Best Retail Architectural Design’ at the 2018 Philippines Property Awards – the first for any mall in the whole of Western Visayas.
“With the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art connected to the mall, we see arts and culture as integral elements of our mall development in the Iloilo. Our plan is to make Festive Walk Mall a venue to showcase the best of Ilonggo artistry and cultural prowess, and we are also bringing modern art technology into our mall soon,” reveals Tan.
Directly connected to Festive Walk Mall via an airconditioned skybridge is the Festive Mall Annex, which will house some government agencies like PhilHealth, Bureau of Immigration and the Land Transportation Office, as well as medical and wellness clinics. This will also be directly linked to Festive Walk Parade, a 1.1-kilometer dining and nightlife strip, and to the multi-level steel parking where the township’s transport hub will also be located.
With the opening of Festive Walk Mall, Megaworld now has 17 lifestyle malls around the country. Among the flagship malls under the Megaworld Lifestyle Malls brand include Uptown Mall in Uptown Bonifacio, Venice Grand Canal in McKinley Hill, Southwoods Mall in Southwoods City, and Eastwood Mall in Eastwood City./PN
