BACOLOD City – A 1-year-old boy died after a car hit him in Sitio Lo-oc, Barangay Old Sagay, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, Sagay City police head, identified the boy as Gelbert Tumulac of Barangay Himogaan Baybay, Sagay City.
Driver Dennis Pabrigas, 47, of Barangay Old Sagay, said he did not see Tumulac when he turned left around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
At the time, Pabrigas was driving a Nissan Navarra 2.5 pickup car registered in the name of Jeanel Pabrigas.
Tumulac fell on the ground due to the impact and sustained several injuries. He was rushed to the Lopez District Planters Foundation Hospital in Sagay City where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
The driver was now under the custody of the Sagay City police after he surrendered./PN
