HERCOR College Jaguars cruised to its second win in the 15th Dumarao Mayor’s Cup after a 93-85 win over Double J Construction on Sunday at the covered gym in Dumarao, Capiz.
Led by Jim Sencil, Kenneth Tulipas and Maymay Parohinog, Jaguars dominated Double J from start to finish to score a follow-up to its 91-89 win over Lennard Car Center last week.
Sencil finished the match with 18 points while Parohinog and Tulipas had 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Jaguars. Michael Balbandra finished with 26 markers for Double J.
Lennard Car Center, meanwhile, tallied its second straight win with a 91-84 triumph over TJ Roxas City Team. Keith Pamating and Cris Loyola had 25 and 21 points, respectively, for Lennard Car Center.
On Saturday Lennard Car Center was also victorious as it cruised to a 76-70 victory over Dumarao Vice Squad with Felino Arenal and John Belleza having 17 and 16 markers.
After three playing dates, Jaguars is on top with a 2-0 win-loss slate, followed by Lennard Car Center (2-1), Dumarao Vice Squad (1-1), TJ Roxas City Team (1-2), and Double J (0-2).
The tournament is one of the highlights of Dumarao’s annual fiesta. The champion will receive P30,000 cash and a trophy while the second, third and fourth placers will get P20,000, P10,000 and P5,000, respectively./PN
