BACOLOD City – Losing control of the brakes while negotiating a curve turned fatal for a truck driver in Sitio Calat-an, Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
The 50-year-old Gabriel Rodrigo of Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental was killed after the Mitsubishi Fuso truck he was driving crashed against a tree around 5 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.
Six passengers, on the other hand, were injured, the report added. They were the 49-year-old Jonathan Olviedo, 51-year-old Reynaldo Abarro, 37-year-old Ulysses Sumampong, 29-year-old Jomar Calipong, a certain “Ronnie/Jojo,” and 23-year-old Jiren Doctor.
The passengers were currently under treatment at the Merciditas J. Montilla District Hospital in Barangay Canturay, Sipalay City, police said.
