BACOLOD City – A man arrived home drunk and stabbed his son’s sleeping companion, police said.
The 27-year-old Sonny Capanay of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental sustained a stab wound on the left chest, a police report showed.
Capanay was brought to the San Carlos City Hospital where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival” around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police identified the suspect as the 62-year-old Valeriano Bahunan Sr., father of Capanay’s friend Valeriano Jr.
It was around 2 a.m. on Tuesday in Sitio Burgos, Barangay General Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental when the stabbing happened.
Bahunan was arrested in a follow-up operation and currently detained at the municipal police station lockup facility./PN
