BACOLOD City – For illegal possession of firearms, three men were arrested in Barangay Pilar, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
They were the 78-year-old Loreto Segovia, 47-year-old Danilo Garnado and 38-year-old Jake Calumba, all residents of the village.
Officers from the Hinigaran police station caught them around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Recovered from the suspects were an M16 rifle with six magazines, a shotgun with four live bullets and a .9mm pistol loaded with 12 live bullets, the report stated.
The confiscated weapons were now under the custody of the Crime Investigation and Detection Group in Bacolod City.
Segovia, Garnado and Calumba, on the other hand, were detained and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
