ILOILO City – The police officer charged with murder for shooting a colleague on Sunday night tested negative for illegal drugs.

Police Officer 1 Christian Kenneth Senon of the 602nd Regional Mobile Force Company was subjected to a drug test at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) on Monday.

While Senon, 26, avoided a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, he still has to deal with two complaints – one criminal and another administrative.

Yesterday, his murder case was filed.

The filing of the administrative case for grave misconduct would soon follow, according to Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, regional police director.

Senon may be dismissed from the service – the most severe punishment in police administrative cases, said Bulalacao.

“But we have to give Senon due process,” he stressed.

The shooting on Sunday night was at the 602nd Regional Mobile Forces Company’s headquarters in Barangay Guadalupe, Janiuay, Iloilo. The victim was Police Officer 1 Melchor Casipe Jr., 28.

The shooting happened past 7 p.m. some four hours after Senon and Casipe returned from a drinking binge outside their camp. They had an argument./PN
