MANILA – Some 50,000 employment opportunities in select Japanese automotive companies will be available to Filipino job seekers in September, JobStreet Philippines said.
Up to 40 Japanese automotive companies in the Philippines are joining the job fair at the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) in Cubao, JobStreet Philippines country manager Philip Gioca said during a media roundtable in Mandaluyong City.
“We are happy to be part of a new program of TIP and DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), BOI (Board of Investments), and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). We are looking at the whole supply chain in the automotive industry,” Gioca said.
Employment opportunities are in the Philippines, covering various aspects of the industry such as engineering, management, and marketing.
Gioca said the fair is open to all job seekers.
“This is an initiative of JICA under consultation with the automotive industry. They’ve been talking to their companies in the Philippines and they see that there is an opportunity to increase production of cars in the Philippines,” Gioca said. (GMA News)
