BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth P220,000 was recovered in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
San Carlos City police head Superintendent D’ Artagnan Katalbas Jr. said the 54-year-old resident Elma “Neneng” Bartulin was the target of the sting operation they staged at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday along Ylagan Extension in the village.
Recovered from Bartulin were four sachets of suspected shabu including the buy-bust item, drug paraphernalia and the P500 marked money, police said.
Bartulin’s apprehension also led to the arrest of six other people – the 31-year-old Bryan “Yanyan” Bartulin, 26-year-old April Bartulin, 18-year-old Nino Bartulin, 42-year-olld Luis Tuhao, 24-year-olld Maria Lyn Ballar, and 40-year-old Miguelito De Asis, all residents of San Carlos City.
When frisked, the six other suspects each yielded a sachet of suspected shabu.
Drug paraphernalia were recovered from Bryan, added the police. The officers also confiscated April’s cellphone.
All the suspects were detained at the San Carlos City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
