BACOLOD City – A total of 298 drug personalities were arrested in police operations in the city from January to June this year.
Data from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) showed that among the arrested drug suspects, 20 were high-value targets, 32 were street-level targets and the remaining 246 were newly identified drug personalities.
Two of the high-value targets – Ramy Poja and Roberto Lim – were killed in a police operation in Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago on May 24.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the BCPO has conducted 193 operations and filed 445 cases in the first half of the year.
During this period police confiscated a total of 813.38 grams of shabu valued at around P12.2 million, BCPO records stated.
For the whole June alone, the CDEU recovered 164.71 grams of shabu worth some P2.47 million in a series of buy-bust operations and arrested a total of 66 drug personalities. (With a report from PNA/PN)
