ILOILO City – Nelson Rafil was with his brother and brother-in-law when they came across two brothers on Saturday night.
A commotion ensued between the two groups that resulted in Rafil getting stabbed on the neck, a police report showed.
Rafil was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district after the incident at around 9 p.m. in Barangay 1, San Miguel, Iloilo.
It was not immediately clear as of this writing who specifically stabbed the 32-year-old Rafil, a resident of Barangay 15, San Miguel.
But the police considered the brothers Rick Francis, 25, and Albert, 29 – both surnamed Montaño – of Barangay Igtambo, San Miguel as suspects.
Rafil was walking home with brother Sandy, 22, and brother-in-law Elmar Cagaran, 25, of Barangay Agbay Sur, Leon town when then they chanced upon the brothers.
The Montaño brothers were arrested and detained at the San Miguel police station./PN
