ROXAS City – Police were still investigating the death of a fishpond caretaker in Barangay Lonoy, Sapian, Capiz.
The 58-year-old George Espinse of Barangay Mambuquiao, Batan, Aklan was found dead in the irrigation canal of the fishpond he watches over around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a police report showed.
Investigators from the Sapian municipal police station said Espinse was last seen on Monday.
Espinse was having a drinking binge at a friend’s house near the fishpond that day, the investigators added.
Police were suspecting that Espinse fell into the irrigation canal.
The officers, however, have not yet ruled out foul play in Espinse’s death./PN
