‘Rebels’ shoot Toboso man to death

BACOLOD City – Suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) shot a man to death in Barangay Bandila, Toboso, Negros Occidental, police said.

The 52-year-old resident Egan Carbajosa died of gunshot wounds on the head and the different parts of the body, a police report showed.

Carbajosa is a former member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit. He was gunned down around 3 p.m. on Friday while sitting and talking to friends at a store owned by Allan Dada, added the police.

After shooting Carbajosa, the two suspects fled while shouting “NPA!”

Police said other suspects also broke into Carbajosa’s house and took his firearm.

Recovered from the crime scene were three empty shells of a .45-caliber gun.

It was not immediately clear if the gun used to shoot Carbajosa was his.

Police were still identifying the suspects and the motive in the shooting./PN
