BACOLOD City – The installation of 39 new CCTV (closed circuit television) cameras in strategic areas in the city had been completed but some adjustments must still made.
Executive Assistant Joemarie Vargas, cluster head of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said they will conduct an inauguration for the devices once their operations are already “fine-tuned.”
Vargas said they still have to adjust some CCTV cameras placed at the Bacolod City Government Center and the public plaza.
The devices will help the Bacolod City Police Office in monitoring crimes – like robbery – in the city.
Vargas said CCTV cameras were also installed in Barangay Mandalagan to monitor flooding in the area.
The city government has allocated P23 million for the purchase of the devices from Neotech Asia.
The purchase also includes computer monitors, recorders and furniture, Vargas said./PN
