3 station chiefs must prove worth – BCPO

BACOLOD City – Due to “poor performance” in the anticrime campaign in their area, three station commanders under the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) were subjected to assessment.

They were given a “second chance” to shape up; otherwise, they will be reassigned to other areas, said Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, acting BCPO director.

The BCPO has 10 police stations. Ebreo declined to name the concerned station commanders, whom he described as the three least performers.

“[They] were given until Aug. 5. Second chance para i-prove nila na they are worthy of their positions,” he said.

They have subpar accomplishments in the campaigns against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms, and on crime solution, said Ebreo.

The BCPO head clarified that the performance assessment is conducted every month. Station commanders unfit for the position get relieved, he said.

If the three police chiefs will not improve by Aug. 5, they will be sent to other units under the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), said Ebreo.

The PRO-6 has reassigned 14 police commissioned officers from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office on June 23 due to their nonperformance and excessive number./PN
