BACOLOD City – Crossing the road turned fatal for an old woman at Bangga Kawayan in Barangay Alicante, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The 74-year-old resident Phoebe Suating died after a Ford Everest car hit her around 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday, a police report showed.
Rescuers rushed Suating to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental where attending physician Dr. Jeremias Manuel Moscardon Jr. pronounced her “dead on arrival.”
The traffic investigator said Suating was on the pedestrian lane when the car bumped into her.
The car driver was identified as the 61-year-old Jorge Soliven of Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
Soliven was now under the custody of the E.B. Magalona police station./PN
