ILOILO City – A woman from Lambunao, Iloilo stabbed her husband during an argument, police said.
Lucia Lomillio, 49, is now behind bars and facing a frustrated homicide charge.
She was still able to bring her husband, 45-year-old Gilbert, to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district where she was arrested, said the police.
The incident happened at their house in Barangay Cunarum, Lambunao at around 8 p.m. on Aug. 18.
Gilbert was binge drinking with their son when Lomillio told him to stop, said Chief Inspector Jogen Suegay, Lambunao police station head.
Gilbert was already being unruly at the time, police investigation showed.
A heated argument ensued between the couple. This prompted the son to pacify his father.
But Gilbert punched his son on the stomach, causing the latter to lose consciousness.
That was when Lomillio grabbed a knife from their kitchen and stabbed her husband twice on the stomach, police said.
According to Suegay, Gilbert would often hit his son when he gets drunk and this has been a cause of altercation between the couple.
The suspect was detained in the custodial facility of the Lambunao police station./PN
