ILOILO – In Barangay Aspera, Sara town, police arrested a woman they caught collecting bets for an illegal gambling game.
The 59-year-old resident Pelinda Arante was detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station after she was nabbed around 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Recovered from Arante were a paper she used to tally the bets and P50 bet money.
Police said Arante violated Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
