BACOLOD City – Individuals who are planning to run in the midterm elections next year must now be ready, according to Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor Jessie Suarez.
Suarez said this weeks before the filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) begins.
The five-day period of COC filing will start Oct. 1 at 8 a.m.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will accommodate COC filers until 5 p.m. of every day during the period.
“The aspirants should prepare all legal documents required this early to avoid any complications,” Suarez stressed.
He added that he already bought a ticket to Manila to submit the official list of candidates on Oct. 7.
Those who have yet to register as voters must come to their local Comelec offices and register, Suarez stressed./PN
