BACOLOD City – Price monitoring and complaints desks must be activated in all public markets in this city, according to Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) member Sonya Verdeflor.
This will ensure that sellers follow the suggested retail prices of basic commodities, she explained.
There have been grumblings against unscrupulous traders in Bacolod public markets for “price manipulation”, according to Verdeflor.
The city government should set up price monitoring and complaints desks to address the consumers’ complaints, she stressed.
“These are needed in the interest of the public. They could address the concerns of consumers and end users,” said Verdeflor./PN
