ILOILO City – The city government has started inventorying its properties.
According to City Administrator Hernando Galvez, this is a follow-up to Mayor Jose Espinosa III’s order to cut off of the electricity connection at the former office building of the City Agriculture Office and Animal Bite Center on Macario Peralta Street, City Proper which also hosted the local legislative office of Cong. Jerry Treñas.
“Naga-start kita inventory with mga duta kag mga buildings,” said Galvez.
The office of the congressman was sharing the same electricity service meter with the City Agriculture Office and Animal Bite Center and it was the city government which shouldered the electricity bills.
In an earlier interview, Treñas told Panay News that during the administration of Mayor Mansueto Malabor, then congressman Raul Gonzalez Sr. requested the mayor for an office.
The congressman was allowed to use a portion of the City Agriculture Office building and since then, the city’s succeeding congressmen had been holding office there.
Galvez said the City Agriculture Office building was part of the approved plan for the revival of Sunburst Park and construction of a new Freedom Grandstand.
The property inventory should have been done a long time ago, he stressed.
“Wala gani kita sang mga original documents, halimbawa, mga titulo. Ang mga duta may Deed of Donation lang, wala pa na-transfer ang land title,” said Galvez.
