St. Robert’s ISSA boy cagers down CenterPhil

ROBERT’S International Academy Panda Rockets got into a winning start in the secondary boys basketball of the 2018 Iloilo Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Meet at the Western Institute of Technology gym in Iloilo City.

Coming up with huge plays in the endgame, the Panda Rockets scored 85-78 over CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights on Sunday. Wilfredo Dinate waxed hot with 31 points for St. Robert’s.

In the other secondary boys category A game, Ateneo de Iloilo etched its first victory with a 65-57 domination over Sun Yat Sen High School. Alfred James Martinez finished with 16 points while Augustine Leonard Denila had 11 markers for Ateneo.

John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University cruised to its third straight victory in as many games in the secondary boys category B after a 73-41 rout of Iloilo Scholastic Academy.

Nelson Latoza Jr. continued his impressive showing for John B. with 15 markers while Paul Vincent Jandic chipped in 11 points.

University of San Agustin, meanwhile, stayed behind John B. in the standings after tallying its second consecutive win against Iloilo Sacred Heart School (1-1) 96-44. Arthur Peter Tubales had 13 points for San Agustin.

Santa Clarita International School Primes bounced back from its opening-day loss with a 79-36 win over Bethany Life Christian Academy. Kim Rey Servano and Frank Steven Tono led the way with 16 points each.

Santa Isabel College of Iloilo also tallied its first win after a 52-42 escape from St. Joseph School. Keith Kaepe Bernasol and Dale Dominic Otero combined for 21 points for Santa Isabel./PN
