BACOLOD City – The public must be made aware of the latest suggested retail prices (SRPs) of products that will be sold in the market for the yuletide season, according to Councilor Sonya Verdeflor.
This is why the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) must conduct a “massive” information drive regarding the SRPs, she added.
Verdeflor, citing a Sangguniang Panlungsod resolution she authored, urged the DTI to deploy its Consumer Protection Group for an intensified SRP information drive.
She said the SRP list for “noche beuna products” is usually released in October or November.
While the list is not yet updated, the SRPs for such products released the prior year still stand, Verdeflor added.
The lady councilor also said consumers must not confuse this with the SRP list that the DTI released on Sept. 1.
The Sept. 1 list was for prime commodities only, she added./PN
