Negrense producers earn P31.8M at 5-day trade fair

BACOLOD City – Negrense producers generated a total sales of P31.8 million in the recently-concluded 33rd Negros Trade Fair held at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City from Sept. 26 to 30.

This year’s figure is about 24 percent higher compared to last year’s P25.6 million.

Christina Gaston, president of Association of Negros Producers, said the trade fair is a testament to what Negrenses can achieve if they work together towards one vision.

“Months of hard work by everyone involved have paid off. Blessings such as this continue to encourage us to do our share in promoting what Negros has to offer,” she said.

The 2018 edition, participated by 70 producers as well as local government units (LGUs), was themed “Sweet Talk: Sugar and Spice, Awesome and Nice.”

The overall top grosser is the Negros Oriental Arts and Heritage based in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

This was followed by the NVC Foundation Inc., Inasalan sa Dalan, Casa Carmela, Virgie’s Home Made, Ereñeta-Manaloto Chorizo, Felicia’s, El Ideal Bakery, Kusina Jamora, and Art Energy.

Those under the food sector posted the highest sales of P12.57 million, an increase of 37 percent from last year’s P9.19 million.

Earnings of others sectors are as follows: gifts, decor and houseware sector, P9.39 million; home furnishing and furniture, P4.38 million; fashion, P3.33 million; natural and organic, P1.45 million; and tourism, P718,223.

Gaston attributed the higher sales to good quality products, creative new items, excellent promotions, attractive displays, and vibrant atmosphere at the fair. (PNA)
