BACOLOD City – Five individuals in Talisay City, Negros Occidental were arrested after police caught them allegedly engaging in illegal gambling.
They were the 33-year-old Erwin Alegada, 45-year-old Alfredo Desaca, 20-year-old Ed Clinton Malunes, 25-year-old Winston Deboyan, and a 17-year-old boy, a police report showed.
Police said they were betting in a spider fight when nabbed around 2:10 p.m. on Sunday in Barangay Matab-ang.
Recovered from them were two spiders, six spider cases, a wooden stick, and P1,050 gambling money.
The four men were detained in the lockup facility of the Talisay City police station while the boy was turned over to the police station’s Women and Children Protection Desk for proper disposition./PN
