ILOILO City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) targets to release cash grants under its Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) program to 210,311 poor households in Region 6.
These households were included in the “Listahanan” or National Household Targeting System for Poverty of DSWD Region 6.
Each household would be receiving P2,400 this 2018 (or P200 per month) and P3,600 in 2019 and 2020 (or P300 per month).
The province with the most number of target beneficiaries is Negros Occidental – 104,821 households.
The target households in other Region 6 provinces are the following:
* Iloilo – 55,392
* Antique – 18,265
* Capiz – 16,898
* Aklan – 11,555
* Guimaras – 3,380
The cash grants should ease the impact of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law to poor households, said DSWD Region 6 focal person for “Listahanan” Fe Gencianeo.
The national government allotted P504,746,400 for “Listahanan” beneficiaries, she revealed.
The release of the cash grants begins this second week of October. Gencianeo said the first to receive would be those from Antique./PN
