BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) was told to strictly enforce its “Oplan Ligtas Undas” this coming All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod recently passed a resolution that directed BCPO head Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo to prepare his men in securing all public and private cemeteries in the city.
Resolution proponent Councilor Sonya Verdeflor said the public must be reminded that bringing firearms, bladed weapons, audio speakers, and liquor, among others, to cemeteries is prohibited.
They must also be reminded that vehicles are banned from entering cemeteries.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said in a statement that the police and the military are now conducting intelligence and security operations to ensure the safety of millions of Filipinos who will be coming to their hometowns in observance of undas./PN
