Gun, drugs put man behind bars

BACOLOD City – Not only a gun but suspected drugs were also recovered from a man in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Officers from the Sipalay City police station responded to Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City around 10 a.m. on Oct. 17 after they received a complaint from one of the residents.

The 23-year-old Michael Barayoga of Barangay Zone 2, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental was roaming around the village carrying a firearm, the complainant said.

A team led by Senior Police Officer 1 Janrey Dioso nabbed Barayoga and brought him to the barangay hall.

There, the police confiscated a .38-caliber gun loaded with five live bullets from Barayoga.

When frisked, two sachets of suspected shabu were also seized from him.

Barayoga was detained in the Sipalay City police station.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) were filed against him, police said./PN
