ILOILO City – Two motorcycles collided on All Souls’ Day in Barangay Nabitasan, Leganes, Iloilo. Seven people including three minors were hurt.
Jose Rico Amar Magallanes, 43, and wife May, 38 – both residents of Phase 3, Alta Tiera Village, Jaro district – were on board one of the motorcycles.
Sustaining injuries on the body, they were confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district.
The Magallaneses were bound for Dumangas town to buy fish when they met the accident at around 3:40 p.m. on Friday, a police report stated.
Magallanes told the police that the head-on collision happened when the other motorcycle breached their lane at a curve.
Reynaldo Superal, 54, of Barangay Malunang, Zarraga, Iloilo was driving the other motorcycle.
Riding with him were wife Marieta, 53, and their grandchildren Ma. Jessica Asildeque, 12, Liza Jane Asildeque, 7, and “Negro,” 5, stated the police report.
Superal and his riders were taken to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro district. Police said they were looking into the report that Superal was under the influence of liquor./PN
