BACOLOD City – Seven persons – including four minors – were arrested after they were allegedly caught red-handed in a pot session by Barangay Tanods of Barangay Patag in Ladlad Resort, a hinterland resort in the barangay around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Turned over to the Silay City police were John Kenneth Canizares Arricivita, 18; Wowie Parcon Gumapac, 20; Jhon Vergel Bariedo Mamerto, 19; and four unnamed 16-year-old minors, residents of Purok Cabuguason, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The barangay watchmen were on their nightly roving patrol when they spotted the suspects in one of the resort’s cottages having a pot session.
Recovered from them was dried marijuana leaves amounting to P500 and other drug paraphernalia.
After their medical check at Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, also in Silay City, the suspected were detained and charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
