ILOILO City – Nicolas Aldaba, 28-year-old farmer from Janiuay, Iloilo, was found dead.
His family discovered his body – laden with multiple injuries – floating at the Suage River in Barangay Yabon, Janiuay at around 9 a.m. on Nov. 9.
The resident of Barangay Barasalon, Janiuay has been attacked, said Senior Inspector John Paul Guay of the municipal police.
Investigators have already identified the suspects but were still trying to determine the motive, Guay said.
Aldaba had gone missing on Nov. 7, two days before his body was found.
That day, accompanied by cousin Norman Rojo, Aldaba went to the house of his girlfriend’s parents to ask permission to marry her, Guay said, citing initial investigation.
After a short conversation with the woman’s family, Rojo went home and left Aldaba behind. The latter was last seen on a drinking binge with friends, said Guay.
Guay refused to name the suspects so as not to preempt their investigation./PN
