In a chance interview of Pep.ph with Pambansang Bae Alden Richards, the actor was able to comment on issues hounding his primetime series “Victor Magtanggol.”
Alden was quite glad, though, despite his show ending soon.
“Masaya, masaya po ako at ang dami kong nadiskubre sa sarili ko habang ginagawa ko itong Victor Magtanggol,” he said.
The GMA-7 actor added: “Nakita ko kung gaano ko maki-simpatiya sa mga tao sa set from artista to production to utility…Since tayo po ang nagki-carry ng show, ako po si Victor Magtanggol. Parang meron po akong sense na responsible ako sa lahat ng taong involved sa trabaho namin, moreover sa audience.”
Alden also said, “Kailangan ko rin maging responsible sa mga taong nakakatrabaho ko. So mas lumaki po ang sense of responsibility ko.”
According to Alden, his co-workers inspire him every time they have a shoot.
“Every taping, hindi lang ako nagpupunta ro’n para magtrabaho. Nagpupunta ko ro’n para alagaan ko ang mga tao sa set,” he said.
“Bigyan ko sila ng motivation na kahit na puyat na kami, way past our working hours ang trabaho namin, meron pa ring motivation na mahahanap sila through me, para mas maging positive pa rin yung kalabasan ng trabaho,” Alden added.
Victor Magtanggol was Alden’s “comeback project” at GMA-7’s primetime. Did it reach his expectations?
“Yes po, very much,” Alden responded. “First title role ko rin po ito sa buong buhay ko at masaya po ako sa kinalabasan ng story, sa characterization ng character po ni Victor Magtanggol. Na-reach po na naging inspirasyon po ang show ng maraming kabataan.”
No truth to rumors
Alden admitted that he is sad that the show will be ending on Nov. 16.
“Pero siyempre po, tinapos lang namin ang extended run ng show. And last year pa rin po na napaalam na family trip, family vacation, parang hindi po possible talaga na i-extend pa ulit,” he said.
There have been bashers saying that the show was cut short. But Alden said it was not.
“Hindi po siya na-cut short. Actually po, nag-extend pa siya ng ilang weeks,” the actor clarified. “Yun nga lang po, gaya nang sabi ko, gustuhin man po sanang i-extend pa, talagang hindi na po possible.” (Pep.ph)
