CENTERPHIL Montessori Silver Knights-Janiuay extended to eight years its reign in the 3rd Iloilo Congressional District Sports Association Meet secondary boys basketball after ruling this year’s edition.
CenterPhil captured the title after a 77-60 domination of Pototan in the final round on Wednesday at the Guadalupe Gymnasium in Janiuay, Iloilo.
Lester Valn Paraico had another strong showing for CenterPhil with 22 points while Adrian Germinal stepped up his offensive in the all-important game with 18 markers.
CenterPhil had been dominant since the start of the titular face-off with Paraico and Ronald Silorio setting an early advantage before preventing Pototan from coming close with second half hits from Germinal.
On its way to the championship match, CenterPhil defeated Cabatuan in a tightly contested semifinals encounter while Pototan ousted Bingawan National High School.
Also part of CenterPhil were John Lloyd Adet, Jay Capenanes, Jhon Rei Congreso, John Carlo Molleda, Rojan Dave Niembra, Paul Justin Razalan, Juan Andre Sagbigal, Jhon Deo Sajonia, John Robert Stebbeds, and Jose Rey Tuya.
After ruling the three-day tournament the Andee Ticson-mentored Silver Knights were advancing to the Iloilo School Sports Council (Integrated) Meet where they will bid for a slot in the WVRAA./PN
