FOUR teams made it to the semifinal round of the 2018 Iloilo PRISAA elementary basketball after winning their quarterfinal games on Saturday at the Western Institute of Technology gym in Iloilo City.
Defending champion Hua Siong College of Iloilo easily advanced after a 119-12 victory over Philippine American Progressive School, Inc. Nico Salazar led Hua Siong with 20 points while Nake Guarra added 15.
Ateneo de Iloilo made it to the Final Four after a 68-37 rout of Iloilo Doctors’ College. Jurrien Iñigo Tenorio fired 14 markers to banner the scoring for the Blue Dragons.
PAREF-Westbridge cruised to the semifinals with a 77-50 victory over Assumption Iloilo. John Adrian Altubar had 24 points while Hector Memarion made 14 for the winning team.
Lastly University of San Agustin completed the playoff cast after a 62-37 victory over Colegio de San Jose. Chad Ernest Cartel finished with 12 points to lead San Agustin.
The semifinals action starts Monday morning at the Iloilo Sports Complex gymnasium with Hua Siong facing PAREF-Westbridge and Ateneo tangling with San Agustin.
In tertiary men, WIT eased its way to its second straight victory after an 83-80 win over Doctors’. Marvin Cuerbo fired 21 points while Jonel Fatla-onag made 17 for WIT.
John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University also claimed back-to-back victories after taking down defending champion San Agustin 83-74. Fritchard Dulce had 25 points for John B./PN
