CENTERPHIL Montessori Silver Knights were hailed as Zone 3 champions in the 1st Province of Iloilo Interschool Sports League secondary schools basketball at the Pototan Astrodome in Pototan, Iloilo.
The Silver Knights ruled the two-day tournament after an 83-80 victory over Integrated Academy School System, Inc. in a tightly contested final round. Lester Valn Paraico led CenterPhil on Sunday night with 23 points.
Backing up Paraico on the offensive end were Jose Rey Tuya and Adrian Germinal, who produced 14 and 13 markers, respectively.
This was the second title for the Andee Ticson-mentored Silver Knights.
They have claimed their eighth consecutive title in the 3rd Iloilo Congressional District Sports Association Meet 2018 secondary basketball last Wednesday.
Before the championship game, the Silver Knights first scored a 79-72 win over Lambunao National High School in the semifinal round, Paraico still leading the way with 31 points.
In the group stage on Saturday, the Silver Knights scored lopsided victories over Mary Immaculate Academy and Pototan National Comprehensive High School.
The Silver Knights will now represent Zone 3 in the 1st Province of Iloilo Interschool Sports League on Saturday at the Iloilo Sports Complex./PN
