ROXAS City – A resident of Barangay Daplas, Dao, Capiz turned over three loose firearms to the authorities.
The resident refused to disclose their name, said Senior Inspector Hilbert Gervero, municipal police chief.
Daplas barangay captain Jose Erwin Campos helped turn over the two homemade shotguns without magazines and ammunition and a homemade M14 rifle without ammunition.
Police Officer 1 Charlie Sion received the firearms at the Daplas barangay hall on Monday.
It was not immediately clear as of this writing who owned the weapons.
“Ang asud-asud nga pagsungka sang pila ka mga residente sang indi lisensyado nga armas ang makabulig gid pauntat sang pila ka mga krimen,” Gervero told Panay News.
The Dao police station temporarily took custody of the firearms.
The weapons were set to be turned over to the Firearms, Security Agency and Guards Section of the Capiz Police Provincial Office./PN
