ILOILO City – A woman driver reported to the police that a resident of Barangay Baldoza, La Paz district shouted an expletive at her while she was trying to get past the latter’s vehicle that she claimed was obstructing a road.
Ilene Guzman, 30, of the same village told the police Eddie Capindo yelled at her, “Yudiputa ka (Son of a bitch)!” at around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
While the incident did not turn into a full-blown road rage, it caused her “great shame and embarrassment,” stated a police report.
Capindo cannot be reached for comment as of this writing.
Driving a red Hyundai Elantra, Guzman stopped her vehicle and blew the horn to call the attention of the owner of the Toyota Avanza parked along the road and obstructing the way, the police report stated.
Capindo then surfaced and said, “Ka-igo na da imo salakyan (Isn’t the way too narrow for your car)?” Guzman replied, “Nong, indi ko ka-igo (Sir, I can’t get through).”
According to Guzman, Capindo got mad and said they owned the road and suggested that he take over her car.
“Amon na di ya dalan. Panaog da sa salakyan mo kay ako ma-drive kay indi ka kabalo (We own this road. Get off your car and let me drive it for you),” Guzman quoted Capindo as saying.
Guzman told Capindo that “indi ko ya Nong magpanaog sa salakyan ko (I won’t get off my car, sir).” That was when the latter cursed at her, she claimed.
Police referred the incident to the barangay lupon./PN
