ILOILO City – Unidentified robbers barged into the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) office of La Paz district and took P44,000 worth of electrical appliances and supplies.
Identifying the culprits might prove a challenge to the investigators – no witness has surfaced as of this writing and the office has no closed-circuit television camera, a police report stated.
ABC-La Paz secretary Liezel Valle discovered the burglary at the office at the public plaza in Barangay Lopez Jaena Norte at around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday. She reported to the district police.
Investigators from the La Paz police station found that the padlock of the backdoor had been destroyed and there was a hole through which the robbers may have opened the door from the outside.
The items inside the ABC-La Paz office that went missing included the following:
* 24-inch Samsung television worth P30,000
* Samsung DVD player, P3,500
* a box of Christmas lights, P5,000
* two circuit breakers, P1,000
* electrical wires, P1,200
* electric stove, P2,500
* office supplies, P500
* five LED lights, P300
Two security guards were detailed at the public plaza where the office was located between 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the period when the burglary may have happened, police noted.
The police report identified the guards as Randy Villalobos and Weny Carbajal, both of the Mount Carmel Security Agency, Inc.
Investigation into the incident continues./PN
