Bacolod cops seize P37.6M drugs since Jan.

BACOLOD City – The anti-drug operations of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) from January to November this year had yielded P37.62-million worth of illegal drugs and led to the arrest of 615 drug personalities.

Police records showed that a total of 2,504 grams of “shabu,” with a street value of P37.561 million were seized along with 296.48 grams of marijuana valued at P68,191.

Of the 615 persons arrested in 397 operations, 46 were high-value targets, 54 were street-level targets, while 515 were newly identified drug personalities, showed BCPO figures released on Thursday.

Police filed a total of 1,040 cases against suspected drug personalities from January to November this year.

Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, acting BCPO director, commended the operating personnel of the various antidrug units for their accomplishments.

He reminded them to intensify their efforts in the campaign against the illegal drug trade in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

The latest major drug haul in the city involving P3-million worth of shabu was initiated by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Mansilingan last Wednesday.

Ebreo lauded the successful operation, saying he welcomes the assistance from other police antidrug operating units.

He noted that with the second operation of the RDEU this year, not only the City Drug Enforcement Unit and the Station Drug Enforcement Teams are involved in the police campaign against drugs in Bacolod City. (PNA)
