BACOLOD City – Two suspects were arrested in two separate drug operations in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, La Carlota City police head, identified the suspects as Giovanni Gonzales Paloma, 34, of JM Basa Street, Barangay 1, La Carlota City; and Kryzanard Zapanta Ravanes, 23, a call center agent and resident of San Agustin Street, Barangay 2 also in the city.
Paloma was arrested at corner JM Basa and San Agustin Streets in Barangay 1 around 9:25 p.m. Saturday by the La Carlota City police together with the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company (NOCPMFC) led by Chief Inspector Lowell Garinganao.
Confiscated from Paloma were two heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item bought in exchange for P500 marked money, and other drug paraphernalia. The two sachets have a market value of around P1,000.
Police also confiscated from him one Honda XRM with place number GO-2529.
Meanwhile, police arrested Ravanes, a call center agent, around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning, at the Ceres Bus Terminal in Gurrea Street, Barangay 3, La Carlota City.
Seized from Ravanes was P26,000 worth of suspected shabu weighing about 2.6 grams and P500 in buy-bust money.
The suspects have been detained at the La Carlota City lockup facility, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
