ILONGGO taekwondo jins from A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym had a strong showing in the poomsae and kyorugi events of the 1st Martial Arts Festival at SM City Iloilo.
Capturing gold in individual and team poomsae were Angelie Marie Perillo, Abigail Marie Perillo and Justine James Diasnes (black belt); Janus Miguel Tacsagon, Joycie Pearl Tacuel and Paolo Vito Gonzalez (brown belt); Mariel Angela Siscar, Jan Andrew Gancero and Lyn Owem Santacera (red belt); and Artha Camile Tanago and Jesseray Lucas Frantilla (blue belt).
Taking silver medal in poomsae were Paolo Vito Gonzalez (brown belt) and red belt holders Amira Estimera and Frenniel Gale.
“We are happy with our showing here,” head coach Flora Navales said after the Sunday night matches. “As a coach, I am content with their performance. All the players gave their best and they deserve their medals.”
In kyorugi, capturing gold were Art Christian Tanagon, Karl Artimez Tanagon, Janus Miguel Tacsagon, Sheriemei Anne Hojilla, Nash Cerbito, Maxine Louise Doran, Franchesca Alterado, Zeth Isaiah Rico, and Jared Angulo.
Hannah Dello, Ashley Dello, Klieven Russ Palma, Ehyan Rhodwell Talabucon, Benjamin Evidente, and Artha Camille Tanagon meanwhile won silver medals.
The event was organized by the Iloilo City government’s Sports Development Division, the Iloilo Taekwondo Association and the Philippine Taekwondo Association./PN
