BACOLOD City – About 1,000 patients have availed of medical and dental aid during a mission spearheaded by the OVY Foundation in partnership with Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI).
The one-day event was a joint effort of the mother and son duo, Olivia Yanson and Leo Rey Yanson, president of the VTI.
Jade Seballos, legal and media relations manager of VTI said that passengers, employees family, several residents of this city particularly residents of Barangay Bata, where the beneficiaries of the medical and dental mission.
The foundation has been doing this kind of event since 2008 and they conducted it every time they learned it was needed.
Just for this year, they have conducted the mission three times, the first was in February at Dauin, Negros Occidental and then in October at the Lopez Jaena Ceres Bus Terminal in Barangay 30, this city.
It is the advocacy of Yanson to help those who are in need of medical attention because she is a nurse by profession, Seballos said.
She added that it is the passion the duo to help the people.
Aside from medical and dental mission, the foundation also held a feeding program, as well as distributing free medicine and vitamins.
There were 10 private medical doctors and 15 dentists who accommodated the patients./PN
